January's featured artist is Janelle Kopp.Janelle Kopp, Ceramics and PaintingJanelle has lived in Summit County for almost 40 years.&nbsp;Like most residents here, she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, town events, concerts, neighbors and tourists. She has a BFA in Art Education and has studied with local Colorado Mountain College instructors Leanne Wirta and Michelle Woods and in Santa Fe with Christina Ward.&nbsp;Janelle usually makes her sculptures working from illustrations and reference photos, she lets the clay dictate the final form. Fired clay has the requirement of being hollow to not blow up in the kiln which makes gravity a constant challenge. Although glazing can be controlled, Janelle prefers to allow its unpredictable nature to dominate.&nbsp;A new old love is painting. Although more comfortable with oils or acrylics, watercolor has been rewarding and a happy addition to Janelle's display.

High Country ARTisans is a local artist's co-op. We feature photography, fiber art, mosaics, metal, pottery, jewelry, scroll saw wood art and both acrylic and watercolor paintings. Our Artists get inspiration from our beautiful Summit County, Colorado landscape.
